Parents and families

We’re the go-to provider for delivering outstanding children and family services.

Talk to us about your commissioning needs. We can provide experts to help develop your services or work in partnership with you to deliver them on your behalf.

Our services range from: children and family centres through to early help community hubs or short breaks for disabled children. Targeted services such as intensive family support, youth justice, employability and much more - all supported by evidence-based programmes.

Early intervention

We act now, not later. From ante-natal support and breastfeeding advice to parenting programmes and early years education, we get involved from the first years of a child's life. We catch problems early, stop them from getting worse, or prevent them from happening in the first place.

We use a whole family approach. With the child's needs at the centre, we identify what other family members need too so that we can include and support all of them. This is essential to helping them build positive relationships in those crucial early years. We also work with our partners to make sure families get tailored, wrap-around packages of support.

Early intervention can break inter-generational cycles of deprivation and disadvantage. This really makes a long-term difference and means a better future for children and their families.

Targeted intervention

All children deserve the best start in life. Unfortunately, for many, this isn't their reality.

We help children and families who need help with specific problems. This intensive support can keep children out of care, prevent anti-social behaviour and be a cost-effective solution to providing services – as it reduces need now and in the future.

All families face difficult times, whether it's going through separation or divorce, suffering a bereavement, or problems with youth offending or risk-taking behaviour. We're here to help families through and give them the skills to come to an agreement over painful issues.

Safeguarding children

Safeguarding underpins all our work. By stopping child abuse, neglect, domestic violence and bullying, children can stay safe at home, in school and in their community.

Our safeguarding procedures are modelled on best practice. We share information with you and other agencies, work closely when there's a concern about a child's protection, and engage with local safeguarding boards to influence on a strategic level too. We'll be supporting you every way we can, to ensure the safety of every child.

We know what works and what doesn’t. Using internal and external research, we check that children, young people and families are getting the support they need. But we regularly review, evaluate and develop our services to keep the child at the centre.

Consultancy Services

We have many strategic partnerships with government bodies, other charities including local authority and health services. We are supported by a team of experts and specialists.

We are proud to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage for the Department for Education.  The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old.

As a national charity, we are able to bring our voluntary income and strategic partnerships to add value to our services. As a not-for profit we reinvest any surplus back into our services, so we can provide more help and support.

Beyond service delivery

We go the extra mile. Your local needs inform our national policy calls. Children and young people's voices are heard through our campaigning work. And independent evaluations make sure our services are making a difference.

We lead the way, commissioning research and innovating with our pioneering programmes. We never stand still.
