Daleep Mukarji, OBE


Dr Daleep Mukarji OBE was appointed as a Trustee in October 2014. Daleep was born and raised in India, where he trained as a medical doctor. Daleep retired as Director of Christian Aid after leading the organisation’s campaigns on Jubilee 2000 Debt Relief, Make Poverty History, climate change, and tax and development.

Daleep is a member of the Court of Governors of the London School of Economics and a member of the Board of the London Metropolitan University. He was the Vice President of the Methodist Church 2013-14. He is chair of Y Care International and a Board member of the Maria Montessori Training Institute.

In 2005 Daleep was nominated as one of the 100 most influential Asians in Britain. In 2008 he was awarded an OBE in recognition of a career dedicated to the alleviation of poverty. Daleep lives in North London.
