We can’t wait to share the wiggle-y fun with you at this year’s Giant Wiggle.

Set yourself a fundraising goal.

Why? Because all this wiggle-y fun raises vital funds to support children and young people in the UK. Plus, you could win a limited edition copy of The Very Hungry CaterpillarTM book! The first 50 Giant Wiggle events to raise over £200 will win this prize.

Here are our favourite activity ideas to help you and your little ones raise lots on the big day.

Wiggle

1. A wiggle-y fundraising walk

Organise a fundraising walk with your little ones and ask parents, family and friends to sponsor you. It’s quick and easy to set up a Giant Wiggle fundraising page via JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving – and you can wiggle anywhere you like!

Our favourite place to wiggle is in the playground or garden. Where’s yours? Don’t forget to give everyone a Very Hungry CaterpillarTM sticker at the end to say 'well done'!

2. Fancy dress

Ask everyone to dress up and donate £2! Wear butterfly wings or keep it simple and dress in green to match The Very Hungry CaterpillarTM.

Pop your donations in the Caterpillar Collection Box inside your fundraising pack.

We raised a super £75, which is enough to fund an anti-bullying workshop for children in schools. The day was a brilliant success.

3. Throw a birthday party for The Very Hungry CaterpillarTM

Bake some delicious treats with your little ones and sell them at your event.  Try one of our special recipes online and invite your community along to celebrate.

4. Story time

The Very Hungry CaterpillarTM is the most read children’s book in Britain so why not settle down for a very special reading? Display a picture of your favourite story time locations a couple of weeks in advance, along with some collection jars. The spot with the most donations wins! Get creative with your story time location – try the garden, reading corner or assembly hall.

The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in our Giant Wiggle… raising over £250 for Action for Children.

5. Get crafty

Raise a little extra with some face painting! Don’t forget to decorate your butterfly masks and caterpillar crowns too.

6. Hunt for treasure

Ask everyone to donate £1 to take part in a treasure hunt. Hide pictures of The Very Hungry CaterpillarTM in the playground or around the house for your little ones to find. You could even take inspiration from the book and hide pictures of food too – one apple, two pears, three plums…!

Please pay in the donations you’ve worked so hard to raise by July 30th 2019 so we can send you A Very Hungry CaterpillarTM certificate. Did you know? £200 could train a foster carer to look after a child who can’t stay with their own family.
